David Edward Ford Sr., 89, of Clarksville died Sunday, December 17, 2023 in Springdale. He was born July 29, 1934 in Clarksville to L.H. ''Howell'' and Cassie Elizabeth (Hanshew) Ford. David proudly served as a Chief Warrant Officer in the United States Coast Guard. During his many years of service he traveled all over the country. After retirement, he worked as an Operational Engineer and owned The Village Market in Coal Hill. He was deeply devoted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he was very active, including serving as a missionary to Salt Lake City. David was a talented woodworker, an avid fisherman and had a strong interest in genealogies.
He is preceded in death by one daughter, Becky Bell; his parents, L.H. and Cassie Ford and three brothers, Leon Ford, George Ford and Thyron Ford.
He is survived by his loving wife, Reba Ford; one son, David Edward Ford Jr. and wife, Yoko; one adopted son, David Douglas Ford; seven grandchildren, Kelly Gregory and husband, Darrell, Dawnya Parr and husband, Jim; Jessica Cato and husband, Philip; Ethan Bell and wife, Heather; Adam Ford and wife, Celeste Mei; Alex Ford and J.R. Bell and numerous great-grandchildren, family members and friends.
A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2023 at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel, followed by interment at Lone Pine Cemetery. Bishop Chris Luong will officiate. J.R. Bell, Ethan Bell, Philip Cato, Jim Parr, Darrell Gregory, Justice Cato, Levi Gregory and David Gregory will serve as casket bearers. Adam Ford, Alex Ford and Mason Nichols will serve as honorary casket bearers.
I am so sad to hear this news. My uncles and friends worked for Dave at Village Market for years. I was good friends with his neice, Elizabeth.
My deepest sympathies to all who were a part of his life.

More of a father figure in my younger years .. listening to you sing on our long drives .. learning life’s lessons at the Village Market .. sitting at the breakfast bar listening to your funny amazing life stories while watching you whip up an easy meal ..
