Linda Carroll Mercer, age 84, of Clinton, Arkansas passed from this life on Monday, December 11th, 2023 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas surrounded by her husband, step-children and friends. She was born in Campbell, Arkansas on December 5th, 1939 to Hugh V. Harness and Marjorie Morrison Harness.
After finishing high school at Marshall, Linda went to the Draughon School of Business in Little Rock. After graduation she went to work in the banking field. She worked for 20 plus years at the Clinton State Bank. Linda was a vibrant, personable lady who loved to talk and visit with all she came in contact with. She loved to go on trips to Branson with her husband, Benny and mother, Marjorie. Dancing was a talent that brought her much joy. Her loving, animated spirit will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Benny Mercer who she married in 1996; Benny's three children, Dora Glover (Mark) of Guy, Tammy Ertle (Brian) of Quitman and Anna Waters (Jimmy) of Greenbrier; grandchildren, Ashley Glover, Heath Ertle, Kayla Waters and Wesley Waters; great-grandchildren, Kara and Izzy and many cousins, extended family and friends who will also mourn her passing.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Marjorie Harness; grandparents, Nobe and Dora Harness and Andy and Ferby Morrison and step-son, Dwayne Mercer.
Graveside services for Linda will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 15th, 2023 at the pavilion at Campbell Cemetery near Leslie, Arkansas with Bro. Mark Glover officiating. Burial will follow the graveside service where Linda will be laid to rest beside her parents. Bearers will be Steve Nunley, Neil Massey, Johnny Waltman, Ritchie Morrison, Mark Glover and Brody Morrison. Honorary bearers will be Ronald Morrison, Wyatt Treat and Matt Treat.
Benny and Family, I am sorry to hear of the passing of Linda. My mom and Aunt Lena Faye Wallis were friends of Linda’s. Linda was a sweet person.
Sad news. Linda was a sweet Lady . We lived in Clinton , so we got to visit often and reminiscence about growing up in Marshall. My condolences to the families.
Linda was my cousin and a blessing to know. She was always smiling and ready to talk. Prayers to her husband and extended family.

I’m so sorry to hear of Linda’s passing. My mom and Linda were 1st cousins, mother sure loved her. Linda was always so good to call mom and visit.
Linda was such a joy to be around. She was a good banker and a great person, that connected with lot of customers. Linda was quite an asset to the Clinton State Bank. She loved her family so much.
I am so sorry that I am not able to attend the service because of my health. Liinda was a lovely niece that I enjoyed knowing for more than 60 years. My sympathy to Benny and other members of the family. Aunt Joan Morrison-McNally

Linda was a joy to work with at the bank. She was a special friend one who knew you an would take a minute to talk to you any where you would see her. Our thoughts a prayers are with Benny a family at this time.
