Wallace ''Wally'' Poynor, 81, of Paragould, AR went to be with the Lord on December 1, 2023 in Jonesboro, AR. He was born in East Praire, MO on September 11, 1942 to Wallace and Pauline Poynor. He proudly served our country in the United State Marine Corps and was an active officer of Dunklin County Law Enforcement. He was a member of Osceola First United Methodist Church. Wally is survived by his daughter, Allison (Les) Myrick; life time partner, Cherri Sligh; grandchildren, Drake Day, Porter Myrick, Preston Myrick, Peyton Myrick and Presley Myrick; brothers, Bob Poynor, Larry Poynor and Steve Poynor and sister, LaWanda McMillian. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Eddy Poynor and Perry Poynor and sister, Alfreda Fryer.

I’m sorry I missed this when it happened. I always found Wally to be a pleasure to work with. A real professional and a genuinely nice guy. May he rest in peace.
Wally was a wonderful person and great friend. My late husband, Judge Stephen Sharp, would’ve also bragged on Wally’s being an excellent law-enforcement officer, Marine, and caring public servant. They shared some favorite authors and good conversations. Wally and his loved ones are in my prayers.
Words cannot express how lucky we were to have known Wally.
He knew our families even before we were born, we considered him uncle Wally.

I knew Kennett's Deputy Chief Poynor while working at the Justice Center for just a little while a few years ago. So sorry to hear of his passing. He was a good man. I will never forget the picture of Barney Fife that hung in his office. It made me smile. Quite a sense of humor. R I P Mr. Poynor. You will be missed. Prayers for his family.

Wally was an amazing person. At 81 he was so active. We were so lucky to have him in our lives. Bless your Family and remember the good memories with him. I know Marianne and I will.
