Phyllis Susan Tucker, 84, died November 27, 2023 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was Born April 2, 1939 in Rock Island, Illinois to Ernest Anthony and Hazel Mozene (Galbraith) Hora.
Phyllis moved to Mountain Home in February 1958 with her parents when her father retired from J.I. Case Company.
She worked for Baxter Regional Medical Center from 1963 (when it opened as Baxter General Hospital) until 2014 when she retired after over 50 years, most of that time in the Medical Records Department.
She loved camping, fishing, hunting and just being outdoors. She also loved house plants and various flowers, etc. in the yard. She was an animal lover, especially her last two dogs, Casper and Tucker, both Dobermans.
She was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church from which she received much strength and support from clergy, religious and special members of the congregation, especially in her final illness.
Phyllis is survived by a half-sister, Shirley Hora of Moline, IL; one son, Kevin of Norfork, AR; three grandchildren, Dustin (Onawa) Tucker of Mountain Home, Ashlie (Daron) Barrymore of Springfield, MO and Amanda (Brendon) Scheppmann of Springfield, MO; six great grandchildren, Will, Leman, Tony, Aiden, Izaiah and Wyatt and two step great grandchildren, Kia and Emerald. She is also survived by two step children, Larry and Glenda.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Troy (Ponty); one-half brother, Laverne (Larry) Hora and stepdaughter, Brenda.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter the Fisherman Church, Kindness Inc. or the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Reverend Norbert Rappold as Celebrant.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Roller Funeral Home.
So sorry to hear that Phyllis had passed. Wish we could be there but we are out of town. God bless.
Worked for over 30 years at BRMC. I remember Phyllis always smiling, so helpful whenever I had questions or problems. Such a sweet lady. So sorry for your loss.
