William Leon Weldon, (AKA) Nubs, Bubba, Papa or Uncle Buddy, 88, of Greenbrier, AR went to be with the Lord, November 10, 2023. He was born April 29, 1935 in Gabbyville, Georgia to William Henry and Mildred Weldon. William was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Carolyn Weldon; his son, Jimmy Dewayne Weldon and his parents.
Leon enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting, but most of all spending time with his family. After retirement he enjoyed hanging out and drinking coffee with his retired friends in Greenbrier and also watching old westerns. He dedicated his life to the service of our country with 40 years of military service Active-duty Air Force, serving in the Korean War and in the Arkansas Air National Guard. He retired from the military as a MSGT E-7. He also worked Civil Service at the 314th Civil Engineer Squadron, Little Rock Air Force Base for 33 years and retired as the Carpenter/Mason Shop Superintendent.
Leon is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Keesee (husband, Larry Keesee); grandson, Justin Weldon (wife, Jolene Weldon); granddaughter, Bridgett Tucker (Husband, Justin Tucker); grandson, Prestion Kennedy (wife, Cassidy Kennedy), granddaughter, Courtney Kennedy, step grandson, Andrew Keesee (wife, Alicia Keesee), step granddaughter, Elizabeth Fontanez (husband, Adrian Fontanez), five great-grandchildren; seven great-step grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Janice Mercer.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 11:30am at Needs Creek Baptist Church in Greenbrier. The visitation is one hour prior to the service at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Needs Creek Cemetery.

I miss my wonderful friend and brother-in-law. He was so much fun and homary at the same time. I had him in my life from 12 years old. He and I loved to dance and laugh a lot. I miss him so much everyday. Love ya George!!!!!!!!! Janis
This breaks my heart for the family!! He truly was an amazing man!! I will never forget him and his stories he told me while sitting at the truck stop in Springhill with the rest of the crew drinking coffee. He definitely made a impact on me!! My prayers are with the family!!

Carolyn & Leon helped my parents so much especially during the summer. They've been like an extra set of grandparents to us "Lee kids".

We loved Leon as family and will miss him greatly. However, we are ever so thankful for his relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. With that, Leon will see his wife and son and the rest of his family who are ever so great full for his faith that placed him in the kingdom Christ prepared for him.

Leon was our daughter Alicia's first softball coach. We will never forget his patience and kindness with our little girl and all the rest of the team as they learned to play softball.
Mr. Leon was a very special guy and will be greatly missed. prayers to all the family.
