Paul R. Rains, 89, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023. He was born on October 19, 1934 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to John H. Rains and Sophie Jarvis Rains.

Paul proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 3 years before his honorable discharge. He decided to continue serving and pursued his military career in the United States Air Force. He proudly served his country for the next 25 years before retiring with an honorable discharge.
Paul was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in North Little Rock. He would volunteer for activities and any other needs of the church. Paul continued to serve his brothers in arms until his health no longer permitted.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Lucille C. DeSalvo Rains; daughters, Sharen Chehab (Khalil) of Oklahoma City, Paula Holland (Paul) of Oregon and Cynthia Rains (Brooks) of Winfield, Kansas; unofficial sons, Brent Brown, Chris Brown and Jeremy Clay; 16 grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, John H. Rains and Sophie Jarvis Rains; sons, Richard and Robert Rains and brother, John Rains.

A Rosary will be said on Thursday, November 16th at 6:00 PM with a visitation following until 8:00 PM at Roller-Owens Funeral Home in North Little Rock.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 17th at 11:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in North Little Rock, Fr. Balaraju Desam as Celebrant. Committal service will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
