Charles Wayne Martinez, 77, of Damascus passed away peacefully at the VA Hospital in Little Rock on October 31, 2023. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Lester and Juanita Winfrey. Charles worked for 15 years as a Police Officer. He retired from AFCO Steel after 36 years as a machine operator. Charles was proud to serve in the U.S. Army on the UH-1 Huey, 247 medical detachments in Vietnam. He was a member of the Damascus Masonic Lodge Doric #471. Charles enjoyed watching westerns, Syfy movies and reading books. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Pam Stevenson; grandsons, Trevor and Tyler Martinez; three sisters and two brothers.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Carol Martinez; children, Dustin (Kasie) Martinez, Tanya (Josh) Baggett, Regina (Ricky) Gardner, Steve (Marla) Martinez and John (Alissa) Martinez; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces; nephews; family and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, November 6, 2023 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier. Graveside Service will be on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 2:00PM at Pine Mountain Cemetery in Damascus with Brother Jeff Brown Officiating.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Berger, Drew Hensley, Aydan Martinez, Wyatt McHam, Dalton Langston and Jason Burroughs.
Honorary Pallbearers are Ray Lamar, Brayden Berger, Hastyn McHam, Westyn McHam, Charles Lee and Trenton Kade.
