Charles Richard Vance, 83, of Lamar died Tuesday, October 31, 2023 in Conway. He was born March 17, 1940 in Bellefontaine, Ohio to Doyle Richard and Grace Marie (Royer) Vance. Charles was deeply devoted to his family. He loved music and often played guitar and participated in square dancing with his family. He had a special place in his heart for his dogs. He was also fond of playing cards, taking casino trips and raising horses.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Grace Vance and his grandparents, Charles and Cleta Marie Royer.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Sally Vance; two daughters, Dawn Hawkins and husband, Mark and Annie Garcia; one son, Joe Vance and wife, Laura; grandchildren, Sierra Garcia and Michael, Westley Vance and wife, Jamie, Krysten Vance, Brandy Horrell and husband, Billy, Joshua Hawkins and wife, Liz and Steven Hawkins and Vi; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
A visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at a later date.

Sally and family — was so sorry to hear of Dick’s passing and the loss of another class of ‘58 Belle Center classmate. Dick and I grew up together in the same neighborhood and in the United Methodist Church. He could be ornery at times but deep down had a heart of gold. The Murphy gals (past and present) will definitely miss him! I always looked forward to seeing him on or near his birthday, so I could buy him a lottery ticket. He was an awesome guy!

So sad to hear he's gone. I have many happy memories of our family reunions in Bellecenter. He used to ride me around on the handlebars of his bike. He will be dearly missed. Prayers and love to you all!
