James Mathie Cowell, 72, of Clarksville died Wednesday, October 25, 2023. He was born February 18, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri to Walter and Laura Ruth (Daniels) Cowell. James was deeply devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren. He was also fond of fishing, hunting and taking trips to the casino.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Laura Cowell.
He is survived by his loving wife, Erika Cowell; two sons, Joshua Cowell and wife, Roxianne and Jason Jones; two daughters, Bonnie Collins & husband, Jeff and Sunshine Jones; ten grandchildren, Jaid, Joey, Jessica, Emma, Mathie, Nick, Laura, Jacsson, Jacob and Brylee; three brothers, Stanley Cowell, Robert Cowell and Vonnon Cowell; one sister, Anita Foster and numerous great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
My thoughts and prayers are with this family May God place his loving arms around this family during this time o the sorrow

We are deeply saddened to hear of James passing. He and Richard worked together for many years. I remember us all going out to eat pizza...fun times. He will be missed by all. Prayers for peace and comfort for Erika and family.

Uncle Mathie you were always so cool with me. You were always there for a hug and laugh when I was lucky enough to hangout with you. We may have not seen each other all the time but it never stopped that love as a strong family we have. RIP Mathie. You deserve it and I love you.
This man tout me so much about hunting and fishing as a young man growing up next door. He took me under his wing and showed me the ways of the outdoors from hunting of all different type of game animals. He and Erika where a big part of what I am today as an outdoorsman. The good lord took in a great man as I remember. My deepest condolences goes out to Erika and the rest of the family

I am the daughter of Jim and Lera Cowell. I remember Mathie as a little black haired boy in Kansas City. He looks so much like his Uncle Jimmy in the picture. I called Ron (son of Jim and Lera) to let him know. So sorry for your loss. It is so sad that families get separated for so many years.
