James Douglas, Jr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 22, 2023 a few weeks shy of his 80th birthday. He was born to James Douglas, Sr. and Dorthy Tucker in Memphis, TN on November 12, 1943.
James was preceded in death by his parents.
James spent his childhood years living with his fraternal grandparents on a farm in rural Arkansas. Later in life he moved to live with his father and stepmom in Memphis, TN where he graduated high school and William R Moore trade school. James worked as a mechanic for a few years before going into a 40-year career as a truck driver.
He met his wife, Margie, at a church hayride and they were married on February 1, 1964. They were blessed with three children. James retired in 1995 and he and Margie moved to Heber Springs, AR, where he enjoyed attending local auctions, finding his treasure, taking his grandsons to the local shooting range and spending quality time with his family on the lake, where he and Margie would watch the sunset.
James is survived by his wife, Margie of nearly 60 ears of marriage; daughter, Sherry Kent of West Memphis AR; son, Steven Douglas (Jerry Stevenson) of Little Rock, AR; daughter, Tina Hester (Brian) of Jonesboro, AR; grandson, Tyler Kent of Maumelle, AR; grandson, Jonathan Kent (Natalie) of Crawfordsville, AR and future great granddaughter, Hattie Rose Kent.
Services will be held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home at 201 N. Pine Street, West Memphis, AR on Friday, October 27, 2023 beginning with vitiation from 10AM - 11 AM followed by the service at 11:00 AM.
Burial will follow the service at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, AR. Following the committal, the family welcomes you to join them at the Executive Residency Hotel in Marion for food and drink.
The family requests the honor of your presence at a special reception after the committal. Everyone is welcome to gather at The Executive Residency, 100 Hannah Lane, Marion, AR, 72364 for refreshments.

We are so sorry for your loss. Glad that he was able to enjoy so many retirement years. Having retired in 1994, I know what a blessing it was for him to enjoy those years. I am sure the family will have many fond stories to tell about him.
