Robert Trice Cockrell "Slick" passed away in Alexandria, LA on October 8, 2023. He was born in Fulton, MS on December 12, 1929 to Troy Allen and Mada Vera Cockrell. Slick was an avid Razorback fan who loved to dance and fish. He was always the life of the party and could make anybody laugh. He worked to the age of 85, after which he enjoyed spending his days at the Pea Farm, SO Motor Pool and the Pit Grill.
Trice is survived by his daughters, Robyn Davison, Angie Blaylock (Phillip Fleming); granddaughters, Kristy Malone (Lee), Leighann Ludolph, Courtney Cothern (Steve), Nonnie Cook (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Harley Grimes III (Hannah Beth), Justin Day (Trinity), Lane Goleman , Riley Cain (Callie), Will Griffin, Gracie Griffin, Luke Cothern, Raysen Cook, Raylan Cook; great-great-grandchildren, Bud, Gator, Brees, Parker Riley and one on the way, Colston; sister in law, Judy Adamson (Norris) and a host of family and friends. He is also survived by his longtime girlfriend, Cecilia Hailey of Jena, LA and her daughters, Chrissa and Sherie. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother of his children, Iletha Cockrell and his oldest daughter, Tonya Pender; brother, Bill Cockrell and sister, Lou O'Brien. A Life Celebration will be held at Roller-Swift Funeral Home on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm with the funeral service following at 2:00 pm. Interment: Mississippi County Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life will be held at Live Oak Community Church in Alexandria, LA at a later date. Guestbook: www.RollerFuneralHomes.com.
I'm sure gonna miss Mr. Slick. He always had a smile and a hug for me when I would come into church. Rest in peace Mr. Slick, I know you are calling those hogs (razorbacks) in heaven!
We are give our deepest condolences to the family. Slick was one of a kind, to know him was to love him. My grandpa and I thought the world of him and always will. He will be greatly missed. We will never forget all those memories spent at Pitt Grill over the years. Forever in our hearts we love you slick!
Our family considered Mr. Slick as our family. We all loved him very much. Our daughter and her family always enjoyed having him come and share our holidays with us and the kids. He was a very special gentleman and will and is missed very much.

Slick was a very good friend and we shared lots of good times together. From attending the Razorback Games together, meals at our house, and work. His smile and wit will never be forgotten. He will be missed by all who knew him...."Sooie PIgs and Go Hogs" was one of his trademarks.
I am so grateful to have known Mr. Robert for the short time that I did.. Loving and caring, all those who know him will miss him deeply.. Rest in Peace Mr. Robert..
