Larry J. McHalffey, 79, of Jonesboro passed away Monday, October 2, 2023 at NEA Baptist Hospital. He was born on May 9, 1944 in Caraway to JW and Ruth (Overman) McHalffey. Larry served in the United States Army, during the Vietnam Era, was a self-employed brick mason and also worked for ASU until retirement, he was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed farming, which included raising chickens, fishing, hunting and being with his family.
Preceding him in death are his parents; wife of 50 years, Barbara Carol (Harris) McHalffey; three brothers and one sister.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Danny Joe McHalffey; daughters, Tammy McHalffey and Charla Whitehurst; grandchildren, Skylar Whitehurst, Seth McHalffey, William Hutchison and Hannah McHalffey; sister, Wanda (Rickey) Brannon.
A graveside service will be Friday, October 6, 2023, 2:30 pm at Trinity Cemetery with Albert Camp officiating.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
A visitation will precede the service, 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.
