Nellie Jane Spencer of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023, at the Circle of Life Hospice facility in Bentonville, Arkansas. Jane was 88 years old. The daughter of Perry and Waunita (Newberry) Kelley was born on October 3, 1934, in Compton, Arkansas.
Jane worked at Harrison Nursing Home for several years and at Tyson Foods in Green Forest from January 1984 until she retired in June of 1999. She loved to sew, crochet, and cook, especially for her family. Jane was always eager to bring plenty of food to any gathering, church function, or to a sick friend. She also loved singing songs about her faith.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Ewell; her son, Earl Landon Spencer; her sister, Ruby Pope; her brothers, Denny Davidson and Bob Armer; and her parents.
Survivors include her two daughters, Vonda Katz and husband, Tom, Treva Finley, and husband, David; four grandchildren, Darin Finley and wife, Misty, Josh Katz, Caleb Katz and wife, Sofia, Sara Carpenter and husband, Jon; three brothers, Bob Davidson, Kenny Davidson, and Ronnie Davidson; five sisters, Vermalea Smith, Donnie Clark, Dema Lummel, Joni Fred, and Margie Cofield; five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends.
Visitation was on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
The Funeral service was on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at New Hope Full Gospel Church with Pastor Billy Edgar and Pastor Arlis Burks officiating.
Pallbearers were David Finley, Darin Finley, Tom Katz, Josh Katz, Caleb Katz, Lester Davidson, and Larry Spencer.
Honorary Pallbearers were Benny Blackston, Guy Lee Blackston, Billy Edgar, Matthew Piper, Tyrell Piper, Darrell Youngblood, Devoe Youngblood, Jerry Parker, and David Spencer.
Interment was at Plumlee Cemetery in Compton, Arkansas.
