Ila Rae Fetzer, 96, of Tennessee passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

She was born May 18, 1927 in Charlotte, Arkansas to Floyd R. Jernigan and Inez Thompson Jernigan.

Ila Rae was a lifelong Christian, serving and loving the Lord. God gave Ila Rae so many gifts to share and as her family we were blessed to be recipients of those gifts. She was a talented seamstress and homemaker, in every sense of the word and always set her standards high by giving her all. Throughout her life she worked hard and unselfishly made many sacrifices for her family. She worked outside the home some, but her joy and heart was always at home with her family. She enjoyed quilting, bicycling, flower gardening and going to the beach when the opportunity came along. She was so loved and will deeply be missed.

Survivors include her children, Virginia Tomerlin of Cummin, Georgia, Dortha Thomas (Richard) of Stanton, Tennessee, Patricia Cain (Phil) of Springfield, Missouri, Ralph Fetzer, Jr. of Dade City, Florida; one brother, John R Jernigan of Killeen, Texas; six grandchildren, Judi Johnston, Hank Thomas (Mandy), Melissa Fowler (Jason), Natasha Gugaria (BK), Heather Hutchings and Sean Fetzer (Michelle) and nine great-grandchildren; as well as many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd R. Jernigan and Inez Thompson Jernigan; her husband, Ralph S. Fetzer, Sr; brothers, William M. Jernigan, Floyd Russell Jernigan; son-in-law, Thomas Vernon Tomerlin, Jr. and one grandson, Thomas Vernon Tomerlin, III.

Pallbearers are Phil Cain, Richard Thomas, Hank Thomas, Jackson Thomas, Sean Fetzer and BK Gugaria.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00am Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Faith Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Alan Meinzer officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Cord, Arkansas under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00am Saturday, September 23, 2023 just prior to service at the church.
