Brenda Gail Wicker, to most known as Maw Maw, entered into the Gates of Heaven on September 20, 2023 surrounded by her family in West Memphis, Arkansas at the age of 70.
Brenda was born on March 28, 1953 to her loving parents, Lester and JoAnn Jones of Palestine, Arkansas. In her younger years, she spent many hours working in their family grocery store in Palestine, Arkansas, dominating the court in basketball and stirring up trouble with her younger sister, Jody Jones of Forrest City, Arkansas.
During Brenda's young adult life, she married her other half, Tommy Wicker of West Memphis, Arkansas on January 10, 1974 in Palestine, Arkansas. During their life together, they had three beautiful daughters, Tonya Wicker Brasfield (Joe) of West Memphis, Arkansas; Brandi Wicker Koons (Sam) of West Memphis, Arkansas and Courtney Romero Watson (Cam) of Olive Branch, Mississippi. Brenda worked for over 20 years at Rutledge Investment Company and she always made sure to have dinner cooked for her family every night after work.
Brenda loved life, but what she enjoyed most was spending time with her grandkids. Most would say that is what her world revolved around. She had nine grandkids, Kameron Davis, Carson Koons, Carley Koons, Kendal Brasfield, Cayson Koons, Charter Watson, Cannon Watson, Clayton Watson and Crawford Watson. She also had three great grandkids, Easton Koons, Teagan Koons and Blakely Lindsey. They spent a lot of time at their lake house, on family beach vacations and having Sunday dinners. Brenda especially loved the holidays with her family and would spend days in the kitchen preparing a feast for them.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Lester Wesley Jones and JoAnn McCoy Jones. She is also preceded by her brother, Lester Wesley Jones Jr.
A visitation service will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Roller Citizens Funeral Home between 5 and 7 pm, with a short memorial service from 6:30-7 pm.
