GC Anderson, 87, of Locust Grove passed away Monday, September 18, 2023.
He was born October 8, 1935 in Melrose, Arkansas to OT Anderson and Verna (Cochran) Anderson.
GC loved his family and was a good provider. He was a loving father and grandfather and a strong, man of his word. GC and Betty were married for over 70 years. He ministered for 20 years at Herpel, Pleasant Grove, Victory and Oak Grove, was a chicken farmer, worked for the Arkansas Highway Department and enjoyed hunting.
Survivors include his wife, whom he married May 9, 1953, Betty (Burns) Anderson of the home; one daughter, Katherine Landers (Roy) of Locust Grove; three sons, Vance Anderson of Locust Grove, Ricky Anderson (Susan) of Locust Grove, Monty Anderson (Sandra) of Batesville; two sisters, Ella Faye Scroggins (Jim) of Marcella, Barbara Davis (Jerry) of Locust Grove; five grandchildren, Nelson Landers, Jonathan Landers, Elisha Collins, Dr. Amanda Smith, Jennifer Anderson; eleven great-grandchildren, Nelson Landers, Jr. "JR", Hannah Payne. Levi Landers, Emaleigh Landers, Annabeth Landers, Dylan Hall, Kanynn Anderson, Elle Collins, Lila Collins, Kate Smith and Andi Smith, as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Grace Fern Fulks and Avanell Sutton.
Pallbearers are Jeremy Davis, Kyle Davis, Joey Cook, Justin Cook, JJ Scroggins and Jaden Scroggins. Honorary pallbearers are Dale Davis, Shannon Scroggins, Michael Davis, Colby Sutton and Kinzy Sutton.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at the Locust Grove Missionary Baptist Church at 2:00pm with Bro. Todd Self and Bro. Jonathan Landers officiating. Burial will follow at York Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 2:00pm just prior to the service.

I was so sorry to hear about G C. We all go back a long way. I remember seeing ya'll at my Aunt Georgia and Uncle Othar's many years ago. That was some good times.
