James Ray Willis, 80, of Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas, formerly of Clarksville, died Wednesday, September 13, 2023 in Hot Springs. He was born August 29, 1943 in San Diego, California to James Boyd Willis & Argie Irene (Yates) Owens. James proudly served in the United States Army Special Forces. He spent several years on the City Council for Coal Hill, Arkansas. James enjoyed drinking coffee, watching the birds and he loved animals.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Boyd Willis & Argie Irene (Yates) Owens and three uncles.
James is survived by his wife, Doris (Britton) Willis; two sons, Tony Norris and Troy Wooten; two daughters, Irene Emiko Willis and Monica McClure; 11 grandchildren, Tanyon Miyoshi Willis, Justin Edward Wallace McClure, Melanie Lynn McClure, Adrieanna Wooten Zoe Elizabeth Wooten, Alexander Wooten, Jesse Norris, Paige Powell, Rachel Morgan, Johnathon Spedowski and Joshua Spedowski; 11 great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
The memorial service will be at a later date.

I am so sorry to hear of James passing. One of the fondness memories is the purple people eater bobblehead he had on his car dash. When he took us for a ride I could not take my eyes off of its head bobbing up and down. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
