of Little Rock, AR
August 31, 1932 - September 14, 2023
James Warner 'Bud" Morris, 91, of Little Rock passed away on September 14, 2023. He was born on August 31, 1932 to Roosevelt "Red" Morris and Verna Lee Looney Morris in Humnoke, Arkansas.
Bud was an incredibly hard worker, establishing his own auto part remanufacturing business which provided not only employment, but mentoring to many people throughout the years. Bud's greatest passion was emergency response. He was one of the founding members of West Pulaski Volunteer Fire Department and an active member for over 53 years. His department friends were his family and he loved each one.
In 1955, Bud married the love of his life, Justine Wilson Morris. They would go on to have the fairy tale marriage of 68 beautiful, loving years. Bud and Justine were not only husband and wife, but also business partners and best friends.
In 1959, their only child, Jeff, was born. He was the absolute highlight of Bud's life. Jeff was also a business partner, but ultimately, his best buddy. We know they are chasing butterflies together in heaven now.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; 5 siblings and his son, Jeff. He is survived by his love, Justine; 2 grandsons, Zac and Jacob Morris and four great-grandchildren, Carter, Marley, Ava and Ryan Morris.
Services will be held at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home on September 17th. Visitation at 1:00 P.M. with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 P.M. His fellow firefighters will serve as pallbearers: Greg Brewer, Chris Smith, Ronnie Wheeler, Scott Mathew, Henry Kessler and Jason Greene. Other members of the West Pulaski Volunteer Fire Department will serve as honorary firefighters. Burial will be at Flynn Cemetery in Humnoke, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to West Pulaski Volunteer Fire Department.
A very special thank you to the wonderful caregivers at Arkansas Heart Hospital and Hospice Home Care, who provided such loving care. You touched our hearts.
My daddy, Bill McNair, was also a member of the West Pulaski Volunteer Fire Department for a long time. When daddy got to the age where he was unable to safely drive, he sold his pick up truck to Mr. Bud Morris. I was so relieved that he was the one to make that decision because we all cried when that day came. Mr. Morris was very understanding. My sincere sympathy is extended to this family. I'm sorry I didn't know Mr. Morris had died. My neighbor is Jesse and Francis Looney and Jesse just called me. I remember when I found out that Mr. Morris is Jesse's cousin so I was so relieved to know he came from a wonderful family. Mrs. Morris, please know my heart and my prayers will be with you.
Uncle Bud has always been one of my favorite Uncles. He was a kind soul and had a sweet smile on his face. He will be deeply missed by many.
Until we meet again. You will always have a place in My heard.
Many blessings to you and Justine.
We never met in person, but through a family member and am blessed for it. I send heartfelt condolences to all family and friends.
