Rachel Pippin, age 61, of Harrison, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at her home in Harrison. She was born March 3, 1962 in Tulsa, Oklahoma the daughter of Pierce and Rita (Kirwin) Cole who preceded her in death.
Rachel grew up in Clarksville, Arkansas, was a 1980 graduate of Clarksville High School and graduated from the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and History. Mike and Rachel were married in Sheridan, Arkansas on September 20, 1991 and soon afterward she started a career with the Arkansas Department of Correction.
Rachel was a correctional officer at the Tucker unit and was also the unit's Gang Investigator attaining the rank of Corporal. After a brief stint with the Baxter County Sheriff's office, she went to work as a Probation and Parole Officer in the Harrison office of the Department of Community Correction in June 1998. In October of 2006, Rachel took over the Boone County drug court program as well as supervising the sex offenders until her retirement due to health reasons. Rachel has a 20-year career in the field of Corrections and Law Enforcement. She was awarded State Officer of the Year in 2007. Rachel was also a talented Artist who loved to draw and paint. Rachel was a Church of Christ member.
Rachel is survived by her husband, Michael Pippin of the home; three daughters, Kimberly Pierce, Kristy Anderson and Jessica Fales; seven grandchildren and two brothers, Sherman Cole and Kirwin Cole.
Rachel will be cremated and her cremains are to be buried in Clarksville at a later date.

My sweet, precious friend. I already feel the void left by your absence. You cared so deeply for your family and friends. Rachel was a gem. I will miss her laughter, her calls to check how everyone is getting along, chatting about art and genealogy discoveries. Most of all I will miss how we would get so tickled at the smallest mundane things. No words needed. One mischievous grin and we both melted into hilarious laughter. My memories of visiting Grandma Kirwin and Great Grandma Self are filled with my time with Rachel. She made me feel special and for that I am truly grateful.
