Elizabeth Jane (Bass) Jackson, 83, passed away at her home in West Memphis, Arkansas surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on February 24, 1940 in Earle, Arkansas to parents Herman Lee Bass and Lillian M Bass.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Sheila Pfalzgraf, Betty Bass, Dorothy Bass and Mary Marshall and brother, Lee Bass.
While Elizabeth had no children of her own, she was happy to step into the role of mother for children who needed her. She raised three stepchildren as her own. She also raised her niece, Sherryl, from the age of 11 to adulthood. She filled the role of grandmother to Sherryl's children and the children of her stepson.
She was a caregiver. Not only did she fill the role of mother and grandmother, she also worked as a home health care nurse for the elderly and as a teacher for special needs children.
Elizabeth Jackson is survived by her life partner, Larry Smith; Larry's children who lovingly accepted her in the family: James and Debbie Smith, Tresa and Robert Smith, Tony and Dana Smith, Mike Smith, Brian and Monica Smith, Derick and Hanna Smith and all their children; niece, Sherryl Brasseaux and her husband, Cornell Brasseaux; grandchildren, Bryan and Marinda Brasseaux, Jason Brasseaux, Courtney and Will Frederics and Dustin and Hanna Jackson; great grandchildren, Ethan, Taten Kameron and Jett Brasseaux and Walker Jackson.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Candice of Dierken Hospice and all the friends and family who helped us through a difficult time.
Services for Elizabeth Jane Jackson will take place at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, Arkansas. Visitation will be Monday, September 11, 2023 from 6-7 PM. The funeral will be held the next day, Tuesday, September 12, at 2 PM followed by the entombment at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas.
