William Timothy "Bill" Scroggins passed away September 5, 2023 at the VA Hospital in Little Rock.
Bill was born to William Scroggins and Lucille Hammond Scroggins on August 25, 1948 in Fayetteville, AR. He graduated from Wonderview High School in Conway County and was known as "Spunky" to his classmates. After graduation, he joined the Air Force and served 2 terms in Vietnam.
Bill was a jack of various trades and preferred to make his way through life self-employed. Bill was adventurous, he loved to hang glide, ride motorcycles, sport cars and all types of boating. He just loved to have fun and would take you along when he could talk you into it.
Bill is preceded in death by the love of his life and best gal of 30 years, Sarah Green; parents; two brothers, Audie Roy Scroggins of Springdale and Billy Derrick (infant) and two brothers-in-law, David Little of Morrilton and Joe Tull of Alexander.
Bill is survived by 5 sisters, Theresa Tull-Greene (Jim) of Little Rock, Mary Little of Morrilton, Dorothy O'Neal (Jimmie) of Cleveland, Nancy Burnett (Jimmy) of Little Rock and Ava Lasater of Hattieville and 17 nieces and nephews.
A family memorial to be arranged at a later date.

Memories of Bill and and the whole gang down at grandma's in Cleveland still to this day run through my mind. Couldn't wait get down there and hit the trails in the woods on the motorcycles. Definitely a competitor he was. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

My Dad Issac Bill Hammond loved to tell us kids stories about how “ Spunky “ and he would pack up all their camping gear get on their Motorcycles and just have great times together these memories really meant a lot I know as being children of his cousin Isaac we wish we could have got to know him better Our prayers are with you at this time

My wife Kathy and I we’re neighbors of Bill on Forest Circle and customers of his Global Pest Control Co. for more than 25 years.
Bill was hang gliding back then. He loved life as many have said. We will miss that warm personality and those smiles as big as the moon.
He is in a much better place now! Watching over all of us!

Bill will forever be "Spunky" to me, and truly was!!!! My family spent many weekends at the country, and I loved romping and roaming all over the countryside with my wonderful cousins. â¤ï¸ Spunky was the most adventurous and lively, and on occasion he would get hurt doing some crazy stunt. He was a wild child as a youngster, and we all loved it when he would disappear in the dark and then reappear as a maniac chasing us all. Scary things were what we loved!! One time he somehow accidentally shot an arrow at my brother, Scott, narrowly missing his eye. We walked in the creek catching crawdads, hiked in the mountain behind the house, played in the barn loft, walked around the so-called block in the dark, scared Ava and Scott who were the youngest, and just all around had a ball. He grew up into a fine, honorable man. I moved away and saw him only a few times after we were grown, but I kept up with him through Nancy. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him!!

Bill will always be Spunky to me. I have several memories one in particular. He used to chase Ava and I around the yard at Grandma's with that motorcycle. We would have to run and get on the concrete slab behind Moma Hammonds house. He would keep us up there for awhile just racing that motor cycle around the yard. When Bill was in Vietnam Mom and I made several dozen Chocolate Chip Cookies for him and packaged them up and put alot of Double Mint gum in there with them. He got the pkg wrote back to us and said the cookies kinda broke apart and they tasted like double mint gum and next time please don't put the gum with the cookies but they ate them anyway. I know you will be greatly missed. You were dearly loved by all.

I was fortunate to be surrounded by my aunts and uncles when I was growing up. I feel the loss deeply because Uncle Bill was one of the pillars of that loving structure of family members that helped raise me to be the person that I am today. When I was little, Uncle Bill gave me a ride around Grandma’s yard on his big motorcycle. It was so loud! He was always at the family gatherings, a wild-eyed young buck with cool to spare. But back then I was much too shy to really get to know him one to one.
But then something interesting happened just a few years ago. I was at my Uncle David’s visitation and standing in line to pay my respects when Uncle Bill came up to me to say hello. He said, “How are you Karla How is your music going†We stood there chatting for a few minutes. His eyes were softer now. And in that moment we truly connected, one to one.
