Richard Ward, 74, died Monday, September 4, 2023 at his home in Lamar. He was born November 13, 1948 in Kenton, Ohio to Harold Leroy and Ruth Ann Ward. Richard was deeply devoted to his family and spent much of his time fixing and building things around the home just as his wife, Deby, wanted them. He was very proud of his lawn and enjoyed playing softball. Richard served his country in the United States Navy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ruth Ann Ward.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Deby Ward; two daughters, Alicia Goodin and husband, Dawayne and Andrea Ward; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn McNamee and husband, Colten and Aaron Goodin; one great-grandchild, Harper Rose McNamee; two brothers, James Ward and Thomas Ward and one sister, Barbara Hayes.
A visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2023 at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home followed by burial at Holman Cemetery.

My son, Dustin Jensen and I both had the privilege of working with Rick. Me at the Clarksville Nursing Home and Dustin at Haynes. He was our Ohio guy as I’m also from Ohio and would message me “I’m going home what do you wantâ€. He’s such a wonderful caring man and I know Deby and the kids will always have the best memories to share. I’m so sorry for your loss. Many blessings to you Deby and the family.
I lost a brother and best best friend this week. I’m going to miss are talks on the phone about what happen to us that day. My heart goes out to his family. We always ended our talks with “ I love you moreâ€
