Shirley Ann Hickey, 85, of Lamar departed this Earth August 14, 2023 at Atkins Nursing Home. She was born September 23, 1937 to Murlin Lee & Clara Vivian (Jackson) Thalman. She spent many years with her husband traveling back and forth from California to Arkansas working in the orchards and hauling pulp wood. She will be remembered for her delicious homemade tortillas, her love of history and handmade crafts. Thanks to the Atkins Nursing and Rehab employees for taking care of her in her last times.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Artie Hickey; her parents, Murlin Lee & Clara Vivian (Jackson) Thalman; a daughter, Audrey Hickey; a son, Kevin Hickey and a grandson, Jody Huffman.
She is survived by her brothers, Leslie Thalman of California and Willard Thalman of Arkansas; daughters, Myrene Parks, Clara Hubbard and Liz Mackie; sons, James Roberts and Donnie Hickey; grandchildren, Billy, Shawn, Tina, Heather, Dawn, Kelly, Nadine, Sara, Mandy, Jason, Scotty, Mark, Randa, Monica, Crissy and Kent; numerous great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Services will be announced at a later date.

Thank you for being my grandma hickey. Our relationship my have been long distance but I could always tell you loved me like I was right there. I'll never forget the home made sweater and shirts very Christmas.
