George Whitehead, 82, of Marianna, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 3, 2023 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born March 7, 1941 to Edward Farish Whitehead and Diamond Irene McClendon Whitehead in Marianna, Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Joye Carson Whitehead; one daughter, Georgia Whitehead of Forrest City, Arkansas; one son, Wade Whitehead (Kara) of Bay, Arkansas; two grandsons, Carson Whitehead (Haley) of Bono, Arkansas and Drake Whitehead of Bay, Arkansas; one brother, Trent Whitehead of Marianna, Arkansas and one sister, Charlene Moore (Bob) of Little Rock, Arkansas and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Leslie Hand.

Mr. Whitehead was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed fishing in his retirement. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

Pallbearers will be Carson Whitehead, Drake Whitehead, Trent Whitehead II, Mitchell Whitehead, Jeff Moore and Tim Ellis.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. at Marianna Memorial Park in Marianna, Arkansas.
