Audrey Louise Currie passed away at NEA Hospital in Jonesboro on August 2, 2023. Audrey was born to Melvin Brooks and Helen (Martin) Bounds on January 16, 1950 in Twist, AR. Audrey worked at the TA Truck Stop as manager. She enjoyed cooking for her huge family. Audrey spent her free time watching Jimmy Swaggart on tv, caring for her dog, Boo-Boo and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Currie was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Edwin Currie; her brothers, Tim Brooks, Steve Brooks and a sister, Brenda Brooks. Left to cherish the memory of Audrey is her sons, Scott May and his wife, Kelli, BJ May and his wife, Tonya, Barry Blake and wife, Robin, Matt Currie and his wife, Josie and Rusty Currie and wife, Autumn. She also leaves her daughter, Shannon Thorneberry and Shannon's husband, Brian; a sister, Patsy Winder; her grandchildren, Scooter May, Cody May, Morgan McClanahan, David May, Randy May, Braden May, Trevor Blake, Beau Blake, Kayla Watson, Brooks Currie, Baylor Currie, Grayson Currie, Greer Currie, Wyatt Thorneberry and great-grandchildren, Sadie May, Remie May, Maggie Parson, Rylee Parson, Lilli McClanahan, Isiah McClanahan, Finn McClanahan, Hutch McClanahan and Bennett Blake. Visitation for Audrey Louise Currie will be held at The First Assembly Church in Earle AR on August 8, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, interment will be Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 11:00am at Gibson Bayou Cemetery, in Earle.
