Della Mae McCutcheon passed away on Friday, July 28th, 2023 at Highland Court Nursing Home in Marshall, Arkansas at the age of 86. She was born in Omaha, Arkansas on May 12, 1937. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Josephine Terpening, as well as 12 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son, Danny (Tracy) McCutcheon of Harrison, Arkansas; daughter, Debbie (Charles) Cheshire of Pikeville, Tennessee and daughter, Donna (Ron) Grinder of St. Joe, Arkansas. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Della was a homemaker and loving mother; who always put her children's needs ahead of her own. One of the many things that made Della was her love of crafting. The items that she created with her hands were a love language. She shared that love with her friends and family. When you received something that she made, you knew you were loved.

Della happily served her St. Joe community for many years by volunteering her time at the Searcy County Rural Help Center. She met and made many friends along the way. Under the direction of her daughter, Donna Grinder, she dedicated her time to the community. She worked alongside her dearest friend, Mary Willis, her granddaughter, Keyna Kelly, as well as other board members and volunteers. Della received volunteer awards and continued her service for over 10 years. She assisted in many projects that the center offered to the community until her health slowly began to deteriorate.


A Memorial Service was held at the Buffalo River Baptist Church in St. Joe, Arkansas on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. A private burial service was held at a later date.
