Bernice Gross, 84, of Big Flat, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 27, 2023 in Mountain View, Arkansas. Bernice was born on Thursday, April 13, 1939 in Big Flat, Arkansas to the late Ralph McClanahan and Mary Jones McClanahan.
Bernice graduated high school in 1957 from Big Flat High School. She married the late George Gross in 1958. Mrs. Gross would then work for the Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri for a period of time, after which she moved back to Big Flat, where the couple would open a grocery store. For several years afterward, she enjoyed working at the Fiddler's Inn in Mountain View, Arkansas. Bernice enjoyed visiting with people, especially at the Senior Center and the Gathering Place in Big Flat. Bernice was a Christian and a member of Round Mountain Community Church.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Diana Chadwick (Bendle) of Big Flat, Arkansas, Donna Franks of Calico Rock, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Tony Richardson, Shay House and three great-grandchildren, Emersyn, Waylon and Westyn.
Mrs. Gross is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of over eighteen years, George Gross; two grandsons, Kevin Watts, Rusty Franks and son-in-law, Bill Franks.
Funeral services for Bernice will be 11 AM Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Round Mountain Community Church. Visitation will be one hour prior. Brothers Gary Anderson and Roy Jones will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Freeman Cemetery in Big Flat, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Carl Chadwick, Jack McCoy, Tony Richardson, Charles Dye, Chad Freeman and Conagher Freeman. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Treat and David Treat.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.

I still can't believe Bernice is gone I am sure going to miss her I am so glad I got to talk to her on the phone while she was in the hospital she sure was a SPECIAL lady I loved her very much and she loved me we had so many good times together at the center and especially at Bingo it will never be the same without her but I have a lot of good memories and I am sure you girls do too but at least now she is not suffering and we will see her again some day you girls are in my prayers
