of Mountain Home, AR
August 10, 1943 - July 25, 2023
Ms. Gloria Skeeters, 79, of Flippin, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was born on August 10, 1943 in Little Rock, Arkansas to L.C. and Alice Irwin Tompkins. She was a member of the Flippin Christian Church, a United States Navy veteran and a retired LPN of 20 years.
Gloria was a hard-working single mother of four children. She began her career in clerical work and later, at the age of 40, went back to school and got her LPN degree. She was a funny, quirky and sometimes stubborn person who loved helping others with her crafty crocheting, sewing and quilting skills (making hats and lap quilts to give away). She was also a very determined person who taught herself German, the ukulele and anything else she set her mind to doing. She loved gardening, singing and feeding the wildlife that would come around.
Gloria is survived by one son, Chris Skeeters; 3 daughters, Angela Blasdel (Dr. Daniel Valach), Melanie Meekma and Jennifer Scribner; 8 grandchildren, Tasha Sailor (Glen), Niall Blasdel (Laura), John Michael Valach, Ashley Skeeters, Jordan Meekma, Matthew Meekma, Brenton Skeeters and Kendall McDonald and 4 great-grandchildren, Glen Sailor Jr., Kaleb Sailor, Rylee Sailor and Amaya Skeeters. She is preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Joshua Meekma and one sister, Patricia McCloskey.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Roller Funeral Home with interment to follow at Flippin Cemetery.
