Ina Faye Huddleston

of Batesville, AR

February 2, 1930 - July 22, 2023

Ina Faye Huddleston, 93, of Batesville passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023.

Ina was born February 2, 1930 in Strawberry, Arkansas. She loved to tell stories about her eight siblings. Her daddy, Elmer Dobbs, was a farmer and then later in life worked as a custodian at a Baptist Church in Manilla, Arkansas. Her mother, Rebecca Jane Jullian, was a homemaker. They didn't have a lot of money and life was hard at times, but they knew they were loved. Ina always said she was a daddy's girl. Later in life she married and had three children.

In 1959, the family moved to Batesville, Arkansas and Ina got a job at White Rodgers making 30 cents an hour at that time. She retired from the company 32 years later in 1991.

Ina was one of those people that could do anything she set her mind to. She was very strong willed, a bit stubborn at times, but loved to laugh and play games with her grandchildren. She was an extremely hard worker, fiercely independent, but always generous to her family and others.

Ina was a member of First Baptist Church on Main Street since 1983. She was the Sunday School Secretary for years and helped out with many events throughout the years. She loved the Lord and read His word throughout, five different times. One of her favorite verses was Proverbs 3:5-6. Going through many hardships in life taught her, with the Lord you can do anything. God was good to her and blessed her with a heavenly life.

At the age of 93 she was still active with her garden, crafts, clubs, dance, exercise, church and family. She had such a passion for making quilts. She couldn't remember how many she had made over the years. She donated and gifted many to all. Ina also loved to crochet, paint, knit and could sew anything. She won several ribbons at the County Fair for her crafts. She was a member of the Clearview E.H. Club. She helped decorate many booths at the County Fair. She was also a member of the BBC Line Dancers since 1995. Ina loved to dance for the nursing homes; she loved to see the smiling faces of the residents as they danced.

Ina loved to bake. Her favorite thing to eat was sweets. Most of the time she would have dessert first and then her meal. She would always say, "Why wait"! She was always available for a few rounds of Old Maid, Crazy Eights and UNO with her grand and great-grandchildren.

Ina Faye Huddleston was the best mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed! Till we meet again!!

Survivors include her two sons, Jerry Von Turner and Tommy (Henrietta) Turner both of Batesville; daughter, Deborah (Dennis) Satterfield of Batesville; two sisters, Isabell Ring of Batesville and Juanita Smithee of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; six grandchildren, Sabrina Baker, Daniell Weatherford, Caleb McNail, Marci Stallings, Rocky Turner and Debbie Hogland; eight great-grandchildren, Kora Gates, Maddie Bunch, Leighton Leddy, Avery Ann Turner, Jacob Hogland, Brent Gillmore, Gage Baker, and Kindell Baker; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, W.T. Dobbs and Roscoe Dobbs and four sisters, Zelma Milligan, Virginia "Jenny" Grady, Zellma Holland and Lucille King.

Pallbearers are David Ring, Leighton Leddy, Stephen Grady, Dan Gates, Tyler Weatherford and Brent Gillmore. Honorary pallbearers are Nickey Ring, Mike Dodds, Gary Walker and Winford Holland.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home with Stacey Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Milligan Campground Cemetery in Calamine.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm Wednesday, July 26 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in her honor to the Humane Society of Independence County, 5 Environmental Drive, Batesville, AR 72501.

Debbie & family,
I am so sorry to learn of the loss of your beautiful mother. I haven't seen her in years, but she was always so neat & looked like she stepped out of a beauty magazine. I would always think of her
(& you) and I will continue to do so, at Thanksgiving & Christmas when I make her delicious cranberry salad. It's our favorite!
Please know you are all on my heart & in my prayers today and in the days to come.
In His love.....
