of Marshall, AR
November 17, 1946 - July 19, 2023
Lonnie Griffith, age 76 of Marshall, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 19th, 2023 at Conway Regional in Conway, Arkansas surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of hard work and simplicity. He was born in Marshall, Arkansas on November 17th, 1946 to John William Griffith and Lena Mae Parks Griffith. Lonnie grew up on South Mountain in a house full of love.
He dedicated several decades of his life to the road construction industry, where he was a skilled foreman and bulldozer operator. Lonnie had a deep love for the outdoors, especially South Mountain. He found solace in this special place, spending countless hours driving the backroads and stopping to visit with others and share his infectious laugh. The simplicity of these moments brought him immense joy, and it was in these serene settings that he felt most at peace. While Lonnie was accomplished in his career and enjoyed the outdoors, his greatest joy came from the love he shared with his children and grandchildren. He taught them the value of hard work. May Lonnie's soul find eternal peace, and may we carry on his legacy of leading a simple life filled with love, laughter, appreciation, and devotion to family. ''Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words, and missed beyond measure.''
Survivors include his children, Gene and Jennifer Griffith, Matthew Griffith and Crystal Turney and Eric and Jennifer DePriest, all of Marshall; three sisters, Rebecca Ashley, Kathleen Barnett and Betty Einhellig; and grandchildren, Logan DePriest, Ally DePriest, Daniel Griffith, Jordan Pinson and Taylor Harvey.
Lonnie is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lena Griffith; and four brothers, Andy Griffith, Gene Griffith, William Griffith and Jimmy Griffith.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating the life of Lonnie. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, July 22nd, 2023 at Rambo Cemetery near Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Gary Kirkendoll officiating. Friends and family will serve as bearers.
So very sorry for your loss.
The Lonnie I knew was a fine man in every regard. Although Lonnie was retired from McGeorge for many years, he will still be missed by those who knew him. I will miss him.

Doug thought Lonnie was the best bulldozer operator ever born. Lonnie cleared our hill of hundreds of bodark trees and had us a great drive in no time flat! Maybe they are talking about that right now.
With fond memories sending sincere condolences to the family.
