Colonel John D. Woodruff, 79, of Mountain View, Arkansas left this earth to his final reward on July 3, 2023. He was born February 12, 1944 in Bonham, Texas to the late A.C. and Lois (Turner) Woodruff.
Colonel Woodruff had a servant's heart. He lived a life of honor for his country and community. Colonel Woodruff proudly served in the Unites States Air Force for thirty years. He was a pilot of a C130 jet. Colonel Woodruff was a Commander of Air and Rescue and the Vice Commander for the Little Rock Air Force Base in 1994. He served seventeen years in the National American Red Cross. After retirement Colonel Woodruff worked for the Blanchard Springs Caverns. He was also a member of the VFW Post in Mountain View, Arkansas. Colonel Woodruff received many honors in his military career and endeavored a lifetime of training. He was given numerous ribbons and medals for all of his patriotic duties. Colonel Woodruff's life has been an inspiration to those who knew him. His only motive for his sacrifice was, "These things we do, that others may live".
Colonel John Woodruff is survived by his wife, Carol of Mountain View, Arkansas; three children, Keith (Michelle) Woodruff of Frankston, Texas, Jill (Cliff) Edwards of Hideaway, Texas and David (Tanya) Woodruff of Granite Bay, California and six grandchildren.
Colonel John Woodruff is preceded in death by this parents, A.C and Lois Woodruff.
Visitation Service will be held at Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas, Friday, July 21, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 PM.
Graveside Service will be at the Historical Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas, Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 10:00AM.

So sorry to lose our brother-in-law. Happy he is resting in the arms of Jesus. Praying for all our family this weekend. Wish we could be there.
