Kenneth Wayne Lagrone, Sr. died July 10, 2023 in Benton, AR. He was born July 26, 1930 in Boydell, Arkansas, the third of five children born to Luther B. Lagrone and Doris A. Williams Lagrone. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Luther Edward Lagrone and a sister, Ouida Bean. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Darlene Cain Lagrone of Benton; sons, Dr. Kenneth Wayne Lagrone Jr. (Betsy) of Canadian, Oklahoma and Dr. Jim Lagrone (Becky) of Hot Springs Village; daughters, Carolyn Jackson (Terry) of Little Rock and Dianne Doyle (Philip) of Little Rock; a brother, Curtis Lagrone, Sr. (Marie) of Dermott; a sister, Della Jane Gladden of Dermott; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lagrone served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict, rising to the level of Staff Sergeant. A lifelong resident of Arkansas, he worked in a variety of fields, including insurance and printing. He served as Civil Defense Director of Poinsett County and several years as publisher of The Trumann Democrat. He enjoyed printing the most and spent many of his later working years with Best Printing in Little Rock.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home (6700 Alcoa Rd. Benton, AR 72015) with visitation one hour prior at 2:00 p.m.
