Evelyn Rhodes Heavener passed away peacefully July 3rd 2023 at age 82 at Crestpark Nursing Home in Wynne, AR, after a long battle with Dementia and Alzheimers. She was surrounded by her four children, grandchildren, and other family members. Heartfelt thanks to Crest Park Nursing Home in Wynne, AR for the great care and love. She was born September 23, 1940 in Iuka, MS and spent most her life in Brickeys & Hughes, AR. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church in Chatfield, AR. She will be remembered as one of the first Head Start teachers in Hughes and longtime waitress at the St. Francis Restaurant. She loved her four children and spent countless hours at their sports and band events. She loved singing, playing bingo, fishing and spending time with family and friends. She never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face.
She is preceded in death by her husband William R. Tullos Heavener and longtime companion Curtis Raper. She is also preceded in death by her parents Thomas Edward and Jewell Rhodes; two brothers Bobby McAnally and Gene Rhodes; four sisters: Mayrene Bailey, Josephine Warren, Maureen Campbell and Patricia Ann Scott. She is survived by one brother, William Roy "Dusty" Rhodes of Ft Lauderdale, FL. She is survived by four children: Sheila (Michael) Kinney of Memphis, TN, Vanessa Heavener of Parkin, AR, Thomas Edward Heavener (Marissa) of Marion, Ar, and Connie Heavener Dail (Margie) of Marion, AR.
She is also survived by her six grandchildren, whom she loved dearly: Tiffany (Jack) Crumpton, Jordan (Casey) Boyd, Taylor (Tyler) Kinney, Stevie (Tim) Acang, Ashley (Brian) Knox, Bradly Heavener.
She is also survived by ten great grand children: Caiden and Carter Acang, Beau Kinney, Madeline and Nathaniel Crumpton, Kennedy and Corbyn Cooper, and Khloe, Creed and Kendyl Boyd.
She will also be greatly missed by a multitude of family and friends.
We would like to give a special thanks to Crestpark Nursing Home in Wynne, AR for the great love and care they provided to our mother.

We were so sorry to hear about the loss of Ms. Heavener. She was a very sweet lady. She enjoyed life and always wore a smile. She loved to sing! She will be truly missed! You are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time! God bless!! Much love sent!

I have so many great memories of all of us growing up together like brothers and sisters. Mrs. Evelyn was like a second momma. I pray for peace from our Savior in this time of loss and sadness. I wish I could be there tomorrow but things didn't work out to where I could be. I love all of you and still consider you my brothers and sisters. I know she will be missed. I am sorry for your loss. My wife still remembers Karaoke night when she sang to her "you ain't woman enough to take my man". It gave us a very happy memory to cherish. I know she and mom are catching up and talking bout everybody down here...shaking their heads at us all. I hope to see you all very soon.
