of West Helena, AR
September 13, 1949 - June 3, 2023
Troy Dale Chism, age 73, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at his residence.
Dale was born on Tuesday, September 13, 1949 in Prentiss County Mississippi. He was the sixth of nine children born to C.B. and Jewell Chism.
Dale was a Veteran of the Marine Corps. He had many jobs in his lifetime, but he was known around here as a machinist, fabricator and a welder (he considered himself the best). He could build or make anything he set his mind on. Even cancer or his other serious health issues could not stop him from doing what he loved most… hunting and fishing, but he also enjoyed playing a game of spades. Living life in his own unique way - answering to no one! Many have commented that he was the toughest man they have ever known, living a lifestyle like no other!
Dale is survived by six siblings, Doris Grady of Green Forest, AR; Pat Smith (W.A) of Poplar Grove, AR; Roy Chism of Ruskin, FL; Ray Chism (Gayle) of Lexa, AR; Danny Chism (Vanessa) of White Castle, LA; Wanda Henson (Daniel) of Poplar Grove, AR. Two sister-in-laws, Carrie Shores of Visalia, CA and Nelda Carnley of Morganza, LA. A special nephew, Terry Lynn Corbitt of West Helena, AR. Twenty one other nieces and nephews and many more great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Rex Chism and Billy Chism; a niece, Donna Polen and nephews, Tony Pryor and Bryan Chism.
No service is planned at this time.
We were sad to hear of Dale’s passing. We were classmates and friends. Praying Gods comfort and peace for all his family!
Dale and I were friends thru our school days at Barton before we had to face what adult life had waiting. We had so much fun. He was so much fun. Afterwards I saw him about every 5 years at Walmart and we caught up. I pray he is with Jesus, at peace with no more pain. Dale, thank for for your service.
TO ALL THE FAMILY. IM VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.
REST IN PEACE DALE.

I've not seen Dale in years but it only seems like yesterday. GOD BLESS!!
Uncle dale was a one of a kind. My family grew up with him. We were all about the same age and mostly lived close by. I was 2 years younger(Doris Grady oldest) and we all had a good time. Dale had a rough life when he got older, but was always there for family and fish fries. Lol. His passion was hunting and fishing. He will certainly be missed. Love you uncle dale
So sorry to hear about Dale. He was always nice and kind to me. He will be missed.
