Cheryl Lynn Johnson of Jacksonville, AR passed away May 31, 2023. She was born October 24, 1945 in Putnam, Connecticut. She grew up in Central Arkansas, where she graduated from North Little Rock High School and UALR with a Bachelor's Degree in Education.
In 1966 she married the love of her life, Fred Johnson and together they raised 3 sons. She retired from teaching after 40+ years of service. Her greatest loves were the Lord, her family, grandchildren and the many pets that found their way to her home.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Violet Davis and her father, Robert Benoit.
Left to mourn her passing is her husband of 57 years, Fred Johnson; her sons, Craig (Erica) Johnson of Hot Springs, AR, Clint (Clarissa) Johnson of Bryant, AR, Corey (Paula) Johnson of Batesville, AR; 9 grandchildren, Aaron (Iris) Johnson, Elise Johnson, Alec Johnson, Barrett Johnson, Abbie Johnson, Connor Johnson, Morgan Johnson, Kayden Johnson, Rylie-Kate Johnson and Reid Johnson and 3 great-grandchildren, Emmery Johnson, Arthur Johnson and Ian Johnson; her sister, Christi Ingle (Randy); step father, Gene Davis and many cousins and friends.
The visitation will be held Saturday, June 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church in Sherwood, AR. Funeral and graveside services will be held immediately following at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Services under the direction of Roller-Owens Funeral Home in North Little Rock.
Fred—I am so sorry I didn’t find out about Cheryl’s passing until today when Rob Nankervis mentioned it. I’ll never forget the fun day I spent with you two: going out to eat lunch, meeting the cattle (especially Sheila), meeting your dogs, and seeing Cheryl’s Noah’s Ark collection. It was an honor to work with Cheryl at Hawkins. May she rest in peace.

her. She was a good teacher and loved her kids. Enjoyed working with and for you

I am so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Johnson was one of my favorite teachers in elementary school! She had such an amazing love for teaching and definitely left a lasting impression on many. Sending Prayers of comfort for all of you!!
