Laura Louise Stewart, 87, was born on August 17, 1935 in Custer, South Dakota to the late Alfred and Mary Humphrey and passed from this life on May 4, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong homemaker and Christian lady. Laura retired as the city clerk and treasurer for the city of Shirley, Arkansas. She was also a highly sought after bookkeeper and tax preparer.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Joe D. Stewart; two grandchildren, Reeda Jo Stewart, Michael Robert Stewart; one great grandson, Justin Cole Stewart; one great granddaughter, Abbie Breanne Rushing; one son-in-law, Johnnie Hines; two brothers and one sister.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Joe H. Stewart and wife, Kay, Robert (Bob) Stewart and wife, Kathy; one daughter, Diana (Stewart) Hines; nine grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; three siblings; a host of other extended family and friends who dearly loved her. She will be deeply missed by all.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Bradford Cemetery in Shirley, Arkansas.

She was a lovely, lovely lady. She dearly loved her family. She will be missed. May God’s comfort and peace be with all her loved ones.

She was the best Granny anyone could ever ask for, she had always been there for me, I will cherish the memories i've had with her until i'm called home, maybe one day we shall meet again, love you Granny.
Aunt Laura was a beautiful lady inside and out. Many wonderful memories when we moved in Dad and Mom's place in Shirley. She came by regularly to check on them. We all loved her dearly... now she is in Heaven rejoicing with them.
My heart goes out to all of you. Laura & Joe were salt of the earth, wonderful people! May the Lord comfort you with heartwarming memories & great hope to meet them again some day.

So many memories of my youth include Laura. She was always kind to me. She sewed a lot of clothes for me and my girls. She cooked lots of meals for my family and we shared a love for quilt patterns. She has many friends and family that met her at heavens gate. I strive to meet all of them one day!
