Roy E. Nelson, 89, of Clarkridge, AR passed away Friday, May 05, 2023 in his home. He was born on November 17, 1933 in Morrow County, Ohio to Raymond and Mildred Nelson.
Roy worked for over 50 years as a DC electrical engineer. He enjoyed spending time in nature and was an avid hunter and fisherman. When he was younger, Roy enjoyed playing on a co-ed softball team. He also led troops of boy scouts for twelve years. Roy spent a lot of time in his retirement at the Clarkridge Volunteer Fire Department, where he was a member of the board.
Roy is survived by his wife, Sonia Nelson; six children; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren and one brother.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Funeral services will be private. Interment will occur at Thacker Cemetery in Clarkridge. A Memorial service will be scheduled at a later date at the Clarkridge Volunteer Fire Department.
