Brenda Carrol Coley, age 75, of Jackson/Pearl, Mississippi passed peacefully with her children by her side on Thursday, May 4, 2023. She was born on July 24, 1947 in Marvell, Arkansas to the late Joe Calloway and Juanita Calloway. Brenda was of Baptist faith.
Brenda's passion in life was taking care of others. From being a stay-at-home mom, cooking southern meals for family gatherings, attending her children's sporting events, taking care of her ailing father in law, serving as a hostess at Central Mississippi Medical Center or moving back to Arkansas to spend time with her grandson, Brenda adored her family. She and her daughter shared a special mother/daughter bond.
Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Coley; siblings JoAnn Calloway, Ray Calloway, Linda Bennett and Doris Wooten.
She is survived by two children; John (Jennifer) Hughes of Batesville, Arkansas and Linda (Travis) Coley-Harvey of Pearl, Mississippi and one grandson, Jackson Hughes, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Magnolia Senior Care for allowing Brenda the freedom to live her life with dignity as they embraced her fiesty ways with compassion.
A funeral service for Brenda Carrol Coley will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2023 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel in West Helena, Arkansas. A visitation will held prior to the service time at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Eventide Cemetery in Marvell, Arkansas. Brother Bobbie Baker will officiate.
