February 23, 1934 - April 24, 2023
Esther Ruth McElyea, age 89, of Lonoke, went to be with her Lord April 24, 2023. She was born February 23, 1934, to the late Walter and Effie Jordan Matlock, in Holly Ridge, Louisiana.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Wayne McElyea and brothers, J. W., Dan, Paul, John, and Phil Matlock.
She is survived by her two daughters; Sandra (Leo) Roberts of Gravel Ridge and Elaine (Mike) Anderson of Lonoke; two sisters; Ruby Loveday of Little Rock and Marion (Herman) Rambo of Lonoke, as well as a brother, Henry Matlock of El Paso. She also leaves behind four grandchildren; Michelle Weilder of Ely, NV, Paul (Wendy) Roberts of Pangburn, Paige (Ryan) Anderson of Lonoke, and Hayley (Taylor) Elder of Bentonville; seven great-grandchildren; Brittany (Kyle) Morrison, Brandon (Heather) Roberts, Brody Roberts, Erin (Jesse) Osburn, Porter McPherson, Eva Elder and Lincoln Elder. There are also three great-great-grandchildren: Jase Morrison, Brilee Morrison and Bodie Osburn with a fourth due in August.
Many other relatives and friends are also left to cherish the memory of this devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She retired from Remington Arms many years ago and was a member of Lonoke's Eastside Baptist Church in her later years.
Visitation will be Friday, April 28, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Funeral Services Saturday, April 29, at 1:00 p.m., both at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock. Burial will follow at Lonoke Cemetery.

You were an amazing lady and supported me through the big decisions I made! I miss you so much and wish I could’ve seen you again and I wish Bodie could have met you and seen how wonderful you were! He would have loved you! You will be missed greatly but I know you’re with us everyday. We love you very much.
We will all miss her
