James Harold McGaha, 80, of Clinton was born on December 09, 1942 in Pioneer, Louisiana to the late H.L. and Louise (Copes) McGaha and passed from this life on April 23, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was a loving family man as well as a veteran of the United States Army. James spent most of his adult life as a specialist in education. He served as teacher, principal, superintendent and trusted friend.
James is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorthy Self, Darlene Allen and two brothers, Charles McGaha and Gerald McGaha.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 56 years, Mary (Neal) McGaha; three sons, Jordan White Bull, Joel Youngbear, Christopher White Bull; two daughters, Michelle Parker, Gina Marsh (Henry); eight grandchildren, Trenton (Nikki), Amaya, Zoey, Taiya, Adriel, Charlie, Tacha, Navy; one sister, Mary Barton (Doug); two brothers, Robert McGaha, Larry McGaha (Virginia); other relatives and a host of friends.
Burial will be at 10:00 am April 25, 2023 in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Rupert.

I remember how kind Mr. McGaha was when I started working at Alread school. I had never worked in education and he was very patient and knowledgable. I enjoyed my years working there with him and his wife Mary who I worked very closely with for a number of years. I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the family for their loss. Mr. McGaha was such a major part of my life when I lived in Clinton, AR. He and his family always treated me like their own family, and to this day I have so many fond, precious memories of time spent with them. He made a difference in a little girl’s life and I’ll always be thankful. My thoughts and prayers are with the family!
