Phyllis, I am so sorry. I did not know your Mom died until this morning. I was praying for those who were in poor health and your Mom came to my mind. I searched and found her obituary. You may remember me from Blytheville, we were in the Air Force there and went to Glad Tidings with you. I stayed with you and your Mom for a week when you were about 12. Your Mom was a very special Lady! I last spoke with her about 6 months before she passed, I feel terrible that I didn't call her more often. She did not feel well and I didn't want to cause her further issues. We stayed in touch after Ken retired and she and Charlotte came to Kansas and stayed with us after your Dad passed. Such wonderful memories of a true Child of God, never wavering in praying for others. I will see her again, she is with Jesus. So sorry that I did not know of her death, perhaps I may see you as we come to Fayetteville quite often. Our sons live in Winslow and Prairie Grove. Would love to see you.
Phyllis, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She was such a wonderful friend to my mother. We thoroughly enjoyed her visits to Georgia at Christmas time.
I remember when Aunt Pearline and Phyllis moved to Searcy from the air base. I always remember her to be such a prrofessional She always referred to her faith in God always. I was lucky enough to have stayed with Phyllis a couple times in my life Once went to the Air Force Base and stayed awhile and also went with them to see Aunt Pearline’s folks in Missouri !
We were blessed to have her in our family and will be a day of rejoicing in heaven when we all see Jesus !
Pearline Kelley as remembered by Carroll Bass (her nephew):
Pearline was one of my favorite sources for wise Christian counsel. I was so blessed to have such a fine Christian lady have such a profound influence upon my life. I was blessed to have lived with Kenneth and Pearline during my last 2 or 3 months of the sixth grade while my mother and stepfather worked out of state. They lived in a small town full of nice people and lots of other kids for me to play with.
Pearline made my wife's wedding dress and guided us through all the wedding plans and reduced our stress with her wise Christian counseling. What a blessing she was for both of us.
Pearline also blessed my wife and I by allowing Phyllis to stay with us when she worked a night shift at the hospital. Kenneth was in the Air Force stationed overseas so we had fun watching Phyllis grow and practice her saxophone. Pearline always prayed with us and for us. She was like an older sister and Phyllis was like a little sister to my wife and I.
We were blessed again when we moved to Tucson, AZ and lived only 15 miles from them. We enjoyed their friendship the last 13+ years visiting Kenneth and Pearline regularly. We always enjoyed going to see them.
My how God allows us to enjoy such great Christian family relationships helping each other through the good as well as the trying times together. I love that song “I am so glad to be a part of the family of God....â€. It is so good to look back on our former years and praise God for the people He placed in our lives to help us and also for the lives of others that we were allowed to help as well. I am looking forward to Heaven.....
Phyllis,
I’m thinking of you during this time and praying for your peace and comfort.
Praying for comfort for the Family. She was a special friend to my Mom.
I have fond memories of Pearline. My mother, Dorthell Webb, was a good friend of hers and really appreciated her walk with God and her friendship with Mom.
