of Jacksonville, AR
August 2, 1949 - April 15, 2023
Judith (Judi) K. Dougherty, 73 years, born Judith Kay Schelhaas, after a brief battle with cancer; has entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on April 15, 2023 and is now with our Lord and Savior! Survived by husband, Mark and ''the Best'' loving mother to four wonderful, talented children, Tamara (Tammy) J. Eros, Jared B. Eros, Tiffany J. and Jonathan M. Dougherty. Judi was born in Mission, South Dakota and was preceded in death by parents, Conrad and Elnora Schelhaas (Faber) nee Vis. Survived by one sister, Carol Muckey and one brother, Don Schelhaas both of Mission, South Dakota and a host of nephews and nieces. Judi enjoyed being an active part to Cornerstone Bible Fellowship in Sherwood and she worked at BCBS, Little Rock in the ''ID's Dept.'', retiring after 22 years of faithful service. She loved baking holiday treats for her co-workers and each year she would have a ''bake sale'' so all could sample her amazing recipes. Judi will be missed by all who knew her.
Judi had a pure heart and a giving spirit. While reserved and didn't often share her feelings, it was obvious to those who were close to her how much she loved them. Her life was her four children, four dogs, 2 cats, deciding the next recipe for weekend suppers and husband, Mark, whom she loved unconditionally.
Her definition of marital bliss was the enjoyment of baking and cooking, preparing Sunday meals for her family and watching every movie the Hallmark Channel had to offer.
Her children deeply loved their mom and they didn't miss a day without calling just to chat and tell her how much!
''I love you, Honey; you will always be the best part of me!''
''You never know the value of a moment, until it becomes a memory.'' Dr. Seuss.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 22, at 10:00 a.m., at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, with visitation following till 12:00 p.m.

Mark and Family, I am both shocked and saddened to come across this. Not certain you remember me but Nick and I have known your family since our years at Yokota and then Little Rock. I was sitting here thinking of Judy tonight and thought I would look for her. I am shocked to find this as well as extremely saddened. Judy was a remarkable woman,at one time my walking pal and most important my friend while we were stationed at Little Rock. My heart goes out to you all. She was my "sister" in Beta Sigma and I will remember her always,

We are all still in shock! Our hearts and prayers go out to you and your family. Veronica spoke about the times that she had stayed with Tiffany and the cooking that Miss Judy would do.
Her waves will be missed at the mailbox. RIP God Bless
Today my heart is heavy with grief, missing Judi so very much. I'm thinking that I can hear her telling me, "It is what is, whatcha gonna do" For the moment I'll shed tears; and also rejoice knowing that she is no longer in pain for she is a beloved child of God and is with our Savior; watching over each of us. I will always cherish my memories of all the gatherings and shared meals, fundraising at the State Fair, our group road trip to Dallas (with she and the girls all hanging on for dear life as I drove). I'll never have a cookie as delicious and full of love as those Judi made especially for me. I'll remember Judi and the love we shared for one another, my sweet friend, my sister from another mother. To Mark and the family, I hope you can find some comfort knowing that Judi's many friends share in your sadness during this difficult time. Sending each of you a warm embrace.
My prayers are with Mark and the children. I will truly miss Judi. She was so loving and caring. I loved her big heart and witty spirit. I will miss all the times we would talk on the phone for hours. Not goodbye but see you later. Love Pam
