Audrey "Polly" Avey, age 91, formerly of Yellville, Arkansas went home to be with her Heavenly Father Wednesday, March 29, 2023 in Catoosa, Oklahoma.
Polly was born May 7, 1931 in Cricket, Arkansas to John A. Proctor and Sarah Mattox. She went to school in Omaha, Arkansas until her dad's job transferred the family to Missouri, where they lived a few years. Then another transfer moved them to Cotter, Arkansas, where Polly met the love of her life, H.L. Avey. They were married July 4, 1945 and lived in Yellville, Arkansas most of their married life.
Polly owned and operated "Polly's Beauty Salon" at her home in Yellville. She had many loyal customers through the years whom she treasured. She loved the Lord, having accepted Him as her personal Savior at a young age. She attended First Assembly of God Church in Yellville.
Those she leaves behind are daughters, Judy Williams and husband, Donald of Catoosa, Oklahoma; Vicki Shipman of Bruno, Arkansas; grandchildren, Dawn Stoddard, Todd Williams Brad Duncan, Kelsy Lasater, Zach Shipman, Jacob Shipman, Sherri Estes Haggeno and Wes Estes; great-grandchildren, Madison Tsubota, Brooke Marshall, Caleb Marshall, Shawn Duncan, Darcy Lasater, Kadence Lasater, Remington Lasater and Charlie Shipman and great-grandchildren, Adler Tsubota and Isla Tsubota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo Avey; her daughter, Cheryl Estes and her husband, G.E.; her son-in-law, Kelly Shipman; her sisters, Ruth and Sue and many other relatives and friends.
A graveside service for Mrs. Avey will be 1:00 pm Thursday, April 13, 2023 at De Soto Cemetery near Yellville with Bro. James Foster officiating.
Arrangements are by Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville.

Polly was a dear friend of my Granny Retha Robison. I have fond memories going to Polly’s beauty shop with granny. My sincere condolences in the passing of a wonderful lady.
So sorry to here about Polly. She was a fine lady. She did my moms hair a lot. She did mine sometimes to. I always like going their with my mom cause Polly was always so nice Prayers to the family.
Polly Avey is a sweet soul and we miss visiting with her. She never complained and offered kind words of encouragement. Our hearts go out to her family.
Aunt Polly was a lady, always composed and loving. I lived with Aunt Polly and Uncle Leo for a short time in 1955. They treated me as their own. Willa McMahan also lived with them at one time. Aunt Polly was a healer through faith, wisdom, patience, and love. I will always love you.
