Jerry Wayne Grimes of Brookland, AR passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023 at his home at the age of 77. He was born November 12, 1945 in Paragould, AR to Raymond and Beatrice (Allison) Grimes. Jerry worked for GE and was a cattle farmer until retiring. He loved cattle, auctions and following his sons and grandsons (that he lovingly referred to as "the boys") around. He was a member of the Brookland United Methodist Church and proudly served in the U.S. Army.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and a sister.
Those left behind to cherish the wonderful memories of Jerry include his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Grimes; two sons, Terry Wayne (Paula) Grimes and Joel Mack (Kim) Grimes; a daughter, Kathy (Curt) Branscum; grandchildren, Mallory (Ryan), Aaron, Hunter, Lilly and Reece; two bonus grandsons, Brady and Wes and two brothers, Steve (Kaye) Grimes and Barry (Judy) Grimes.
Chapel services will be 10 am Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Lloyd Humphrey officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.
The visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Scotty Grimes, Jacob Grimes, Will Grimes, Kelly Wall, Rodney Wall, Ron Crain and Cecil Massey. Honorary pallbearers will be close friends, family and past co-workers at General Electric.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests lasting memorials be made in Jerry's honor to the NEA Baptist Cancer Center, 4808 E. Johnson Avenue, Jonesboro, AR 72405 or to the Pine Log Cemetery Fund, 11656 Hwy 49N, Brookland, AR 72417.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Jerry was such a sweet man. I will always think of him as one of my Bonus Dad's. Always watching out for us, cheering us on, and taking care of all of us girls quietly from the sidelines. He may have enjoyed doing all the things with the boys, but that girl (Kathy) brought such a shine to his eye, and that father's love carried on to all of us around him.
