Ruby Verneal Abbott Wommack, daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Abbott and Hulda Annie Ramsey Abbott, was born April 23 1926 in Zion, Arkansas. She departed this life February 27, 2023 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 96 years, 10 months, and 4 days.
She was united in marriage to Leonard Wommack on May 18, 1946. To this union, 6 children were born. Verneal was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Verneal loved to make quilts and spent a lot of her time hand piecing and quilting for her family. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Sage Baptist Church.
Verneal is survived by five children, Gary Wommack (Valena), Annetta Smith, Linda Walker (Ronnie), Tommy Wommack (Robin), Gwen Owens (Ken); 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, two sisters and an infant son.
Pallbearers are Jody Smith, Micah Walker, Joel Walker, Seth Wommack, Dustin Owens, Alex Walker, Preston Walker and Cole Beaver.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 2:00pm at the Caney Springs Cemetery in Sage with Brother Doyne Robertson officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior at the Sage Baptist Church.
