CL Patton, age 91, a lifelong resident of Pyatt and an avid outdoorsman passed away Saturday February 25, 2023.
CL was born to Chester Garfield and Cora Elizabeth (Potts) Patton October 24, 1931. He was a Navy Veteran and served his country during the Korean War. He worked as a self employed roofer among some of his family and also some of his lifelong friends and was a member of the Pyatt Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors, enjoying the banks of Crooked Creek all of his life.
He is survived by his daughters, Toy Setzer of Oak Grove, Arkansas, Joy (Steve) Copeland of Yellville, Arkansas and Amy (Eric) Simmons of Valley Springs, Arkansas; his grandchildren: Luke Setzer of Atlanta, Georgia, Jason (Kallie) Copeland of Flippin, Arkansas, Andy (Nikole) Copeland of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Robbin (Cory) Plumlee of Oak Grove, Arkansas, Robert Martin of Conway, Arkansas, Logan Simmons Of Valley Springs, Arkansas and Brooklyn (Jordan) Kimbrell of Valley Springs, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Carolyn Sue (Downing) Patton; daughter, Angela Sue Martin; Son in law, Gregory Scott Setzer; grandson, Joe Bob Copeland; his brothers, CH, CG (infant) and Dorance (Slick); sisters, Viva Horsley, Avo Horsley, Pauline Medock Bjornson, Lucy Ellen Patton and Lucille Giles Royal.
Funeral service will be 10:00 am Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Pyatt Baptist Church in Pyatt, Arkansas with Bro. Eldon Hellums officiating.
Interment will follow at Patton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jason Copeland, Andy Copeland, Logan Simmons, Robert Martin, Darrell Patton and James Lee (Pete) Giles.
In lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to Legacy Hospice, 702 N. Main Street Harrison, AR, 72601 or The Patton Cemetery Fund.

My family sends our condolences. CL was a good man. I have memories of talking with him quite often when I would visit down in the holler. I stopped often at the bottom of the hill at their house to se if they were home and speak with them. Prayers for the family during this time. CL was a Good Man who Loved His Family and was a Good Friend to the People He Knew. Growing up in Pyatt as a Young Boy CL was a Good Influence on My Life
He was like a Big Brother to Me and told Me Things about Life that made Me a Better Person
