Mary Ann Diamond, age 89, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023. She was born on Tuesday, July 11, 1933 in Marianna, Arkansas to the late John Diamond and Carol Fuester.
Mary Ann was an undergraduate of Arkansas State Teachers College and received a masters from Memphis State. She was a member of the Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. She had an active participation in the Rebounders Club at the University of Memphis Tiger Basketball team. Mary Ann was an avid sports fan and traveled extensively with the basketball team.
She is survived by one nephew, Ed Smithson (Roxanne) of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Delorese D. Smithson and Dorothy Diamond.

Mary Ann was a senior at T.A. Futrall in Marianna when I was in the 7th grade.
When I was a junior at Rondo High, she was coaching the girls basketball team
there. We used to listen to music on the car radio during the lunch hour at Rondo High. When I talked to her in the early 2000's, she didn't know me.
That was so sad. Sweet lady.
