Erma Jean Goff, age 89, of Harrison and Batesville, Arkansas, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. She was a resident of Countryside Assisted Living, and the family would like to thank all the staff for their love and care while Jean transitioned from this world.
Jean was born October 7, 1933, at her home in Grange, Arkansas, the eldest daughter of Claude and Ethel Johnson. She eventually met and married her late husband, Loyd J. Goff, and they settled in Batesville, Arkansas, raised their three children, and celebrated 55 years of marriage.
Jean had spent the last 16 years residing in Harrison, where she volunteered for North Arkansas Regional Medical Center's Hospital Auxiliary for 15 years. She was also a member of Red Oak Baptist Church, where she loved to worship.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Ethel Johnson; her husband, Loyd J. Goff; two brothers, Bill Johnson and Mack Johnson; and a granddaughter, Jessica Jones Goff.
Jean is survived by her sister, Louene Simmons; her children, Vicki Henley (Larry), Tim Goff (Jay), and Kim Schwartz (Scott); her grandchildren, Jeremy Sharp (Amber), Tyler Burt (Charlie), Casey McClellan (Will), Chelsea Roaden (Jared), Bentlea Schwartz, and Carter Schwartz; six great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.
The funeral service was Friday, February 17, 2023, at 10:00 AM, at Red Oak Baptist Church, with Pastor Gary Crawford officiating.
Graveside service will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville, Arkansas, at 3:00 PM, with Brother Carley Davis speaking.
The family is requesting all floral arrangements be delivered to Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Jeremy Sharp, Scott Schwartz, Toby Finster, Ricky Johnson, Carley Davis, and Nelson Coleman.
