Helen Ruth Wallis, age 89, of Landis, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6th, 2023 in Yellville, Arkansas. She was born in Marshall, Arkansas on November 10th, 1933 to Clay Harness and Myrtle Massey Harness.
Helen was a life-long resident of Searcy County, Arkansas and a member of the Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her three children, Reck Wallis of Omaha, Tim Wallis of Yellville and Renee Thieme of Yellville; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Knoful Wallis, who passed away in 2004; her parents, Clay and Myrtle Harness; one brother, Willis Harness and one sister, Joyce Mize.
Graveside services for Helen will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 9th, 2023 at East Lawn Cemetery in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Gary Ragland and Luke Ragland officiating. Grandchildren will serve as bearers. Honorary bearers will be Roger Ragland and Gwen Harness.
It’s been a joy and honor to have known miss Helen! I’ll always remember how her smile lit up the room when I walked in.🥰

Granny Helen was a jewel! She taught me a lot through the years. Lots of cooking tips and lessons, I still use. A great example of what a grandmother should be. She was the BEST!

I met Helen many years ago (May 17, 1967) when I first went to work for Blanchard Shirt Company. We had to go to Flintrock Shirt Company to train for 6 weeks. Helen taught me how to do my job and she was so kind. She taught me well as I worked until the factories at Mountain View and Marshall closed in 1998.
Family, Helen was a dear cousin who was always there with a smile when I saw her and a few words to say. She will be missed.

I met Helen when i was16-17, she hired me and i became her favorite employee, i like to think., ( she took me to raise, she said) some people on her line called me her pet. . I called her mama wallis. I loved her dearly. She made me a many a batch of fudge, cookies and candys every year for the holidays. I will truly miss her. Scott & Jackie Tumbleson
