of Clarksville, AR
June 9, 1960 - February 1, 2023
Marty Joe Harderson was born on June 9, 1960 in Clarksville, AR to Joe and Juanita Harderson. He graduated from formerly known as Hartman High School in Hartman, Arkansas, known now as Westside High School in Coal Hill, AR to eventually earn several high school honors, including the highest achievement math award. Ultimately, he made the decision to attend dental school in Memphis, Tennessee, which would set the course for the rest of his life. He used his skills in dentistry to help countless patients, witness to them as he was working on them, sing to them as he was working on them and make them feel more comfortable in a dentist office. He had an overwhelming passion to help those in need, resulting in several mission trips to different countries and mission clinics across the state of Arkansas. He loved music, learned how to play multiple instruments and wrote several songs that have touched so many lives. His love for the Lord was reflected in his love for people, family and his ministry of music in the church. Marty was full of life, loved to tell jokes and loved football more than most. He was an amazing father, grandfather and will be missed by several people more than words can describe.
He is preceded in death by Joe Harderson (father), Juanita Harderson (mother), Shiryl Harderson (sister) and Noah Samuel Harderson (grandson).
He is survived by one son, Gabriel (Crystal) Harderson of Clarksville; two brothers, Ken (Stacy) Harderson of Ozone and Victor Harderson of Oceanside, CA; one sister, Melba (Shawn) Ritchie of Pottsville; his four grandchildren, Kylee, Blakelee, Wyatt and Saylor and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be 6:00 -8:00 PM Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Roller-Cox Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Roller-Cox Funeral Home with Bro. Dr. Marty was very special with my family, especially my son Michael Barnes. Prayers for the family. He was a wonderful dentist.
My heart is breaking for the Harderson family! Dr Marty was the most loving, kind, compassionate human I have ever known! I had the pleasure of working for him, and In that short time he was always a light! Always treating the staff with goodies, doing free dental care for people who couldn’t afford it! I have even seen him pay patients electric bills! That man had a heart of gold! He was such a blessing to so many! He loved his family, God and anyone he came into contact with. He never treated anyone differently. He didnt judge you for something you did in you past! He was always singing and playing his guitar! Anytime someone was nervous he would sing to them before he started and while he worked! Everything he did was with love and light! Man I bet you’re singing with the angels Dr. Marty I know you are up there putting on a great show! 💙💙💙💙 sending all my love to all his family and friends!
Marty, I have always loved you so very much! My heart is broken but I will see you again my sweet friend and brother in Christ Jesus! Enjoy the fullness and presence of our Lord and all our loved ones. It won't be long we will be singing around the throne together! Love you!
Sending prayers to his family.
Prayers for the family.
I had the privilege to work with Marty for just a few months but in that time you could not help but develop a respect and friendship with him. He was just one of those people who you could instantly like. He will be missed by many
Dr. Marty was a blessing to know and will forever be in my heart. I only knew him a short 8 months working with him at the Russellville clinic and he was such a warm and happy soul. He would always come and sing me a song of "Katie May" since it was my name. He was like family to us all. My deepest sympathy is with his entire family and those who knew him.
My heart is heavy as I find out about Dr Marty's passing! He was my dentist for years in Leachville, AR. He used to play his fiddle and sing while I sat in the dental chair. He even went on a mission trip to St. Martin one year! He loved the Lord and is now resting with Him.
Reader's Digest once had a feature about people who inspire. Marty was as deserving of this honor as anyone I have ever met. Bright and talented but also very kind and loving, Marty Harderson pulled himself up by his bootstraps and never forgot from whence he came. He will live in my memory as a great human being who fought the odds and won. Death be not proud.

Dr. Marty, where do I start… A great person gone too soon. I worked with him in Russellville and oh my gosh, it was a blast. Jerri and I would fight over who got to be his assistant that day, lol! The last advise I got was “kristina if you just want to loose like 5 pounds, just don’t eat after 7:30 at nightâ€, I have tried to go by that rule.
To his family, you guys have my love and prayers. â¤ï¸ðŸ™
My deepest condolences, Really enjoyed the time we spent together.

Dr. Marty was an amazing person all around. Such a light and a joy. Our entire family just loved him so much. So many small things he did added up to life long trust and the up most respect for him personally as well as our dentist. He took care of my whole family and all my extra kids in our care over the years. Calmed all of our anxieties and fears with his goofy voices and singing to get us through procedures. We loved listening to him strum on any instrument in the hallway of his office. So musically talented and a smile that made anyone have a better day. Thank you Dr. Marty for everything. We will certainly miss you. I know that heaven is a better place already with you in it.

sorry for your loss worked with marty and his dad years ago
Dr. Marty was my dentist and I had just seen a few days ago for a cleaning and was to come back this coming week for a filling. What a shock to hear of his passing! I am a retired pastor and a Southern Gospel singer and he loved to talk with me about Gospel Music and Country Music, and about the Lord. I always knew when I came in the door if Dr. Marty was "in," there was Country Music from Sirius XM radio playing. He was my dentist, but he had become a friend. My thoughts and prayers are with each member of the family. May the God of all comfort keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

I don’t even know what to say. I’ll definitely miss you. And I’ll always remember the times you brought home things and put them under my pillow. My favorite was the STRAWBERRY shampoo â¤ï¸ I remember you leaving for work and I would cry and hide behind the buildings outside. I remember eating lunch (chicken leg) and I had a tooth that was about to come out and well guess what… you got me down and pulled it!! My heart is so broken. One last hug One last love you
